• Dave Ford

    Dave has over thirty years experience in aviation. At the end of a successful career as a US Army Master Aviator, Dave spent his last few years supporting the Program Manager for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (PM-UAS). Dave’s maintenance and safety background aided the Product Managers with accident investigation experience identifying root causes and recommending process, training and engineering changes to help prevent accidents. After retiring Dave continued to support PM-UAS as a contractor in multiple positions. Taking advantage of the GI Bill, Dave completed his Bachelor of Science in Technical Management and went to work for Science and Engineering Services, LLC as a Program Manager. Dave continued his education and went on to earn his Masters of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Dave Started Aviation Applications in May of 2014 with the intent of providing General Aviation with some of the comparable training tools he was exposed to while in the military. Dave is a veteran of Desert Shield/Storm, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. He holds a Commercial Rotary Wing and Instrument license.  
  • Duane Hill

    Duane Hill is an electrical engineer with a controls speciality. He began his involvement with unmanned aircraft in 2006 at the Utah State University Research Foundation when he started building payloads specific to unmanned aircraft. In 2007, he started an engineering consulting company that specialized in high risk flight test for special unmanned aircraft programs.  In 2000, Duane graduated from Utah State University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a minor in computer science. He completed his coursework for M.S. in Electrical Engineering while working as a research support engineer with the Space Dynamics Laboratory at the USU Research Foundation.  Duane has multiple patents, including one patent for an optical sensor for UAS sense and He is a rated Private Pilot approximately 350 hours flying manned aircraft, over 100 hours conducting high risk UAS flight test and countless hours in flight simulation.
